Founded in 1990, Fontanavecchia Winery was established with the goal of promoting the native grape varieties of the Sannio region and expressing, through its wines, the authentic identity of the Taburno territory. Today, the estate covers approximately 20 hectares of vineyards and focuses its production on historic Campanian grape varieties, with particular emphasis on Aglianico del Taburno DOCG and Falanghina del Sannio DOC, alongside Coda di Volpe, Greco, Fiano, and Piedirosso. This rich viticultural heritage reflects the biodiversity and unique character of the region. The winery’s principal appellations include Aglianico del Taburno DOCG and Falanghina del Sannio DOC, together with Sannio DOC designations for the other varieties. Over the years, Fontanavecchia wines have received numerous awards and accolades from leading national and international wine guides, including the prestigious “Tre Bicchieri” (Three Glasses) award from Gambero Rosso for its Falanghina del Sannio DOC, confirming the consistent quality achieved both in the vineyard and in the cellar. In addition to wine production, the company also produces extra virgin olive oil under the Rillo brand. Nestled among the hills of Taburno, in Torrecuso, Agriturismo Fontanavecchia welcomes its guests to an authentic landscape surrounded by vineyards of Aglianico del Taburno and Falanghina del Sannio, immersed in the tranquility of the Sannio countryside. The property was created as a natural extension of the historic winery owned by the Rillo family, who have been producing wine for five generations. Completely renovated and reopened in 2023, the agriturismo combines modern design with understated elegance. It features three double rooms, each equipped with a private bathroom, an extra-large bed, and direct access to a spacious panoramic terrace overlooking the vineyards. Each room can accommodate up to two adults. Guests can enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi, air conditioning, private parking, and an electric vehicle charging station, as well as gardens and outdoor spaces surrounded by nature.
