The Agriturismo Le Celle is an old farm completely renovated respecting the original features typical of the old Tuscan houses, with stone walls and wooden beams. We are located along the ancient street of Santa Maria Nuova, a few minutes walk from Cortona in a quiet position where you can enjoy the wonderful view of the Valdichiana and a portion of Cortona. The house is surrounded by olive groves, about 1 km from the the city gate of Porta Colonia, this short distance allows you to walk on foot to the center enjoying a beautiful walk away from traffic remaining immersed in the quiet green of the hills. The Agriturismo Le Celle owes its name to the nearby Franciscan “Le Celle” hermitage (reachable in about 20 minutes by walk), the beautiful convent was built on 1211 between the inlet of two hills near a stream water. The hermitage hosted Francis of Assisi during his way back to Assisi . Today the hermitage has become a spiritual destination for those who are looking for contemplate, meditate, pray and relax in the utmost silence.
