Apricus Locanda opened in 2004. We are a boutique hotel in the village of Apricale, Liguria. When we bought the house in 2003 it was a ruin. After a big reconstruction project we opened our doors for business in August 2004 and since then we have welcomed guests from all over the world. Many of whom have become regular visitors.  In 2021, an opportunity to expand the hotel arose, we set plans in motion to expand Apricus Locanda, adding new rooms, a bar, expanding the terrace space and creating a relaxation suite offering a sauna and turkish bath.

Apricus Locanda is a boutique hotel at the foot of the medieval village Apricale. Situated within the hills of the Nervia Valley,  you'll find olive groves, rivers, waterfalls and medieval hilltop villages where time stands still. Unspoiled nature, complete silence, (except for a concert of frogs now and then) is what you can find here - possibly the most perfect "away from it all" destination for a relaxing break. ​ And all just 20 minutes from the Mediterranean coast at Ventimiglia and Bordighera and within a short drive of the French Riviera, Monaco and the Cote d’ Azur.

Neighborhood info

The medieval village of Apricale is situated at 273 meters above sea level in the Nervia Valley in the Province of Liguria. The name Apricale derives from the Latin ‘Apricus’ which means exposed to the sun. But the main characteristic of Apricale, which has enchanted visitors for a long time, is the scenographic aspect of the village. A waterfall of antiquec stone houses on a hill, dominated at the top by its Castle. Apricale has about 650 inhabitants and in its glory days more than 2000. There are more people living in the village but a lot of them own second homes and stay here for a few weeks or months during the year.
