Equally important is a visit to the Archaeological Park of Cava d'Ispica, which is a long gorge full of caves and archaeological sites. It is a kind of open-air museum with traces dating back thousands of years, from the Bronze Age to the late Middle Ages. The gorge cuts through the landscape over a length of 13 kilometers between Ispica and Modica, is 100 meters deep and half a kilometer wide in some places. If you want to experience even more, you can explore the other baroque towns of the Val di Noto. Accommodation is not suitable for groups of young people.
