Company info

Andrew originally trained as a furniture designer/maker before studying art/architecture. Hugues is the linguist whose interests include cooking and history. Monticchio is our permanent home and we feel extremely lucky to live in such a wonderful place and enjoy sharing it with our guests. The restoration project has taken us nearly fifteen years and it has been quite a journey. None of it would have been possible without the support of family, friends and guests, who have stuck with us throughout and we are truly grateful to them all. We are also very appreciative of the local community for their support and sharing their stories about the property. Other fulltime residents at Monticchio are Dora, Sybil and Luna our three cats plus our dear donkeys Timo and Pico, Lambada the horse and Maude our Boxer dog

Property info

Our aim while renovating the 18th century farm at Casale Monticchio was that each apartment and house has its own individual character, a place where our guests would look forward to returning to after a long day of exploring or lying by the pool. They are furnished with special pieces we have collected over a long period of time and each object has a story attached to it, which we are always happy to share. the four houses and apartments reflect a ‘home’ as opposed to a rental property, each is unique in design and furnishings and both have a private terrace. There is also a secluded pool of 20m by 10m and a Croquet Lawn.

Neighborhood info

Casale Monticchio is less than an hour away from some of Italy’s major attractions such as Assisi, Siena, Trasimeno Lake, Todi and Gubbio. The property is in the middle of a protected area and a Nature trail. Exceptionally peaceful, the oak woods around us offer some great walks and there are bikes available for those who wish to travel further a field. The village of Spina is less than 3 kilometers away from us and offer all the amenities (Bar, Post office, Bank, Minimarket etc)
