Castello has comfortable rooms, a pretty terrace and, most importantly, a fantastic location 650 ft from St. Mark's Basilica. It is a 5 minute walk from the Vaporetto (water bus) stop. All rooms are air conditioned and feature Persian rugs and Murano glass lamps. Some rooms have a view of Venice's rooftops, including the dome of St. Mark's Basilica. From the front desk the ancient staircase, dating back to the 1700s, takes you up to the rooms, breakfast room and the bar. A continental breakfast buffet is served each morning. Hotel Castello has a 24-hour front desk where you can get lots of useful tourist information and book guided tours, transportation services, and museum tickets.
