A private staircase leads from the house entrance straight to the water and to a free public beach, complete with showers and an ancient fishermen's pier. From there, you can stroll along the lakefront pedestrian path to discover smaller, hidden coves or dive into the water directly from the promenade. The location is perfectly connected for exploration: a five-minute walk takes you to the ferry stop for a spectacular cruise toward world-famous villages like Lenno, Bellagio, and Tremezzo, while bus stops are located just outside the front door, allowing you to travel easily in every direction. The ultimate highlight of your stay will be switching off your phone, sitting at the balcony table in the evening, and soaking in the silence, the sunset, and the gentle lapping of the waves. The house itself is an ancient residence that once belonged to a family of master plasterers and has been expertly renovated to preserve the elegant original stucco decorations adorning the ceilings. I was born in Colonno, and after many years traveling the world, I've decided to return to my beautiful village to spend some peaceful and happy years. My family, I, and my fantastic staff will be delighted to welcome you and introduce you to the magic of our lake!

Colonno is a tiny village perched on the mountainside that drops straight into the clear waters of the lake. Since ancient times, its inhabitants were skilled fishermen, but also resilient herders and farmers. Even today, where the forest now reigns above the village, you can still catch glimpses of the ancient stone terraces, built with great effort to cultivate the land. The people of Colonno were famous throughout the Lake Como region as tireless workers who woke at dawn every day to bring their produce to the markets, even reaching the city of Como, where they were among the founders of the historic fruit and vegetable market. Back then, the landscape was a mosaic of vegetable gardens, olive groves, and fig trees, whose sweet fruit was highly prized. Although some of these trades have faded, wandering through the narrow alleys of the village today, you can still breathe the same atmosphere of the past, among unchanged views and houses clung to the rock. Unlike other places touched by mass tourism, Colonno preserves an authentic soul of simplicity and privacy. For those who love hiking, the stunning and evocative hamlet of Corniga sits high above Colonno—a place frozen in time with only one permanent resident. Here, the houses and roofs are made of stone, there is no electricity, and water is still drawn from an ancient well in the center of the square. These dwellings, once used as summer shelters for shepherds, are now beautiful mountain huts where the locals gather to honor historical traditions. The most cherished event is the feast of Saint Anne, celebrated on the third Sunday of July: after a long hike, the entire community gathers here to share polenta and alpine cheeses in a timeless atmosphere. Corniga can only be reached on foot from Colonno by following a steep trail that winds through olive groves and woods inhabited by deer and wild boar. Along the path, sublime vistas open up over the lake and the surrounding valleys.
