United StatesGiovanni and his wife are amazing hosts. They met us at the door and helped us with our luggage. They let us check in early and offered to let us leave our luggage after checkout. They gave us dinner recommendations. Not to mention the location is absolutely perfect. It is right in the center of town with a beautiful view of the water from the balcony. It is also super accessible from the train station and ferry. We highly recommend staying at Casa Cortesella, it was an unforgettable experience.

A beautiful place to spend four days.
A beautiful place to spend four days. I don't recommend going in July. The hotel rooms are warm, the AC is not great and fans were not available at our hotel. The downside is the slow, rude servers at every restaurant and the food was very overrated. The private boat tour in the morning or late evening is highly recommended. Ferry lines can be overwhelmingly long so try and go early in the morning.

Just as beautiful as the other towns on Lake Como, but more relaxing. We always prefer smaller, less touristy places and are very happy we chose to stay in Varenna. It was easy to reach by train from Tirano and also convenient to get to Milan.

Beautiful views and less busy than Bellagio. Ensure sneakers as to get around as you generally have to climb a number of steps to get around the town. Had a couple of meals in great restaurants.

Varenna is such a pretty place, we had the most wonderful 3...
Varenna is such a pretty place, we had the most wonderful 3 days and would have liked a couple more. the apartment had the most breath taking view of the lake and was within distance of the lovely walk down to the front of the lake. We took the ferry to visit another village and had another superb meal, so many different eating places to choose from. On our last night , there were musicians playing at the bar and it was magical, listening to the music and watching the lights twinkle on the water. I must also mention the breakfast my husband was served at a local restaurant in Varenna, it was so fresh and well presented. I cannot fault this place and hopefully will return as we ran out of time and had to leave for an Italian wedding in another part of Italy.

Verenna is a beautiful small village conveniently located just minutes from the train station. The combination of train and ferry services makes a car unnecessary. Despite its popularity, the village never feels overly crowded.

I think Varenna is the most beautiful of all the towns...
I think Varenna is the most beautiful of all the towns around Lake Como，especially the lakeside promenade, which offers stunning views from every angle. It’s also very convenient for getting to other towns by ferry, and there’s no shortage of great restaurants here.

The property was located right at the heart of Varenna which is itself centrally located on the shores of Lake Como with good ferry / train connections to other parts of the Lake and the wider region. The host Alexa communicated very effectively and was very friendly, accessible and attentive to our needs throughout our stay.

Absolute wonderful stay at Hotel Royal Victoria! We had a very nice moment here, the place is perfect, on the lake and well situated in Varenna. The pool, the breakfast, and activities were nice. Great location on a beautiful square in the centre of Varenna. We booked a balcony room and had a lovely balcony across the whole front of the hotel - amazing views. Friendly welcome, we ate dinner one night and it was lovely.
