La Casa Della Seta is a newly renovated 200-year-old silk house situated in the picturesque historic village of Viano above the popular town of Tremezzo on the western shore of Lake Como. Ash and Summer look forward to welcoming you to their home. After many years of searching, we found an old tired, unloved and grey former silk house on a hill and now newly renovated it is ready to receive guests. When not running the bed and breakfast, Ash continues to run the international charity – Adventure Aid UK and has many years of experience looking after groups of people in remote areas of Asia, so you should be in good hands on the Lake! Summer still works as a Lawyer in between helping Ash and we both enjoy welcoming guests to the Lake and helping you get the most from your holiday.

From our previous reviews the top remark is, of course – the view. To get this wonderful view though you must be higher up from the shore. However, we are 25 minutes by foot to some great bars and restaurants (5 minutes by car) and we do have a small trattoria in the village. Nearby restaurants serve great pizza and pasta, bars with lake side views and a great wine, meat and cheese place and we recommend Ali di Alice, Lo Locanda, Belle Ile, Casa Aqua Dulsa , Bar Roma and Cantina Follie. Of course, we are near to The Grand Hotel Tremezzo with its ‘T Bar’ and ‘T Beach’ which is perfect for a special occasion. The mountains are behind and the lake in front so there are plenty of walks including the Greenway, Monte Crocione, Capelli degli Alpini, San Martino, and the Santuario Madonna del Soccorso, so If you fancy walking, we can provide walking poles, just ask. From the lake side at Tremezzo, you can catch the ferry to Como city and the famous lake villages of Bellagio, Menaggio and Varenna. From Varenna you can catch the train and head to Milan or Tirano and then the ‘Bernina Express’ to St Moritz. By foot, boast, train or car, there is so much to do, one holiday will simply not be enough.
