Scott is a great host. He picked us up at the train station and made sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The view from the upper terrace might be the best in all of Ostuni.

Central apartment with panoramic terrace overlooking Ostuni’s old town. The apartment sleeps 2 people comfortably. It is not suitable for more than 2 guests. Set out over 3 floors (with internal stairways connecting ground to 1st and 1st to 2nd floors, and to the external upper terrace) this is a self contained 5 room old town apartment finished in contemporary style, 150m from the main Piazza della Libertà. The apartment has vaulted ceilings, 3 balconies and 3 rooftop terraces with panoramic views of Ostuni’s old town and olive groves to the Adriatic Sea. The main bedroom on the 2nd floor has a queen-size bed and ensuite shower room (the only shower in the apartment) with a WC and wash hand basin and access to the 2nd and upper floor terraces, with seating areas, tables and chairs and sun beds. The 2nd bedroom (with a sofa bed, small ensuite toilet with bidet and hand basin, no shower), living room, and kitchen are located on the first floor. The majority of our guests are couples and we do not make up the sofa bed unless requested. Please tell us in advance if you need us to make up the sofa bed in the 2nd bedroom. This is a private rental apartment rather than a B&B. We are not licensed to provide breakfast - but the apartment is fully self catering, and a coffee machine with capsules, and tea is provided with our compliments. The apartment has Wi-Fi (with download speeds of up to 140mbps), air conditioning and heating. Please use responsibly. All windows are fitted with mosquito screens. Smoking only permitted in the outside areas. Free on street public parking is available, directly outside the apartment and in the nearby streets around the apartment - on a 1st come 1st serve basis. Nearby pay public car parking areas are located at Parco Rimembranze (500m) and Parcheggio Ostuni “Al Giardino” (450m).
I am one of the ‘Puglia Guys’. We create and share content for publications, travel guides and influencers all about Puglia as a travel destination. Most recently we have worked with the BBC and contributed to the most recent edition of the Rough Guides Guide to Europe’s top LGBT+ destinations, which includes Puglia (one of only three Italian destinations recommended) as a destination in its own right. The Puglia Guys guides are written from local experience and insight and provide insider tips and practical information on getting around, cultural insights and unique local experiences: from pizzica dancing to wine tastings, cooking classes to road trips. We are Puglia Ambassadors, and it is my pleasure to welcome you and share my insights into a special part of Italy.
Ostuni is perfectly positioned as a base to explore the Valle d’Itria and to get to its best beaches, and beyond. Bari, Lecce, Alberobello, Polignano a Mare and Monopoli are all within easy reach. If you have a car most of Puglia’s best known destinations can be covered by day trips from Ostuni as a central base, without changing accommodation every day or two. Many of Puglia’s towns, especially around the Valle d’Itria, are close together. For example, Ostuni, Cisternino, Locorotondo, and Martina Franca/Alberobello are each about 20 minutes apart by car. The same goes for Ostuni to Ceglie Messapica. Driving from Ostuni to Monopoli takes just 30 minutes, and Monopoli is only 10 minutes from Polignano a Mare. We often enjoy a full day visiting Alberobello in the morning, Monopoli for lunch and stroll around the old town, and then Polignano for an afternoon gelato and beach visit followed by an aperitivo in the old town, all without feeling rushed. The short distances make it easy to explore multiple towns in a single day. While some travellers opt to move between towns, staying a night in each, it can become a hassle packing up and checking in repeatedly. A smart alternative is to use a central base like Ostuni for 3-4 nights and explore the surrounding towns at a more relaxed pace – just as Puglia is meant to be enjoyed. The stretch of the Adriatic coast from Bari south has more rocky coves than the endless strips of sandy beach you will find on the Ionian coast. Nevertheless there are some fine sections to enjoy, especially around Ostuni. Our favourites lie between Torre Canne and Torre Guaceto, and we often head to Pilone. Puglia’s ‘White City’ has a sophisticated cafe culture and evening bar scene. Restaurants, including Casa San Giacomo where Madonna celebrated her 63rd birthday, serve up inexpensive, local dishes.
