Omegna is a quiet town overlooking the charming Lake Orta. It's the perfect place if you're searching a break from work. In the summer, you can enjoy the lake and the numerous downtown establishments (all within walking distance from the apartment). With some ski resorts nearby, it can also be a surprising winter destination (plus, my attic has a fireplace!!) In recent years, the local administration has focused heavily on tourism, offering activities for all tastes: lake excursions, boat trips to Orta and its beautiful San Giulio Island, water activities, MTB or e-Bike routes, excellent restaurants and pubs, and lake-accessible beaches... the water is crystal clear!!! Omegna is about 15 minutes from Verbania and Stresa. From these two lovely locations on Lake Maggiore, boats depart to visit the islands (online reservation recommended). Omegna is strategically located, less chaotic than the towns on Lake Maggiore and, consequently, more enjoyable.
