RIPE's B&B is surrounded by fruit trees, green bushes, a vegetable garden, and chirping birds. Our goal at RIPE is to transform the apartment’s open space in a urban forest garden, rich in edibles and flowering plants as possible food sources for visiting pollinators! Besides being a permaculture lab, it is also the dwelling of your host and her three cats, who will welcome you in their home, ready to recommend interesting, "off the unbeaten tracks" and sights and facilitate your stay the best they can.

At RIPE’s FoRest Garden you will feel at home while experiencing the beauty of the Eternal City without the hustle and bustle of the metropolis. The goal of RIPE (Roman Institute of Permaculture Experientation) is to convert the 400 square meter perimeter garden into a food forest, experimenting with various techniques and theories of sustainable agriculture, in particular following the principles of Regenerative Organic Agriculture and Permaculture. Despite the name, it is still quite far from being an institute, but the vision is there: One day we will organize seminars, courses and events that address the issues of self-sufficiency even in an urban context! The FoRest Garden Guest House, the economic engine of the project, is an apartment that has three guest ROOMS: the Zen, the Sweet and the Grand Imperial. All rooms overlook and access the garden. The kitchen and lounge/TV room are shared spaces between your three hosts, other guests and three cats who live in the garden and occasionally visit you.

The neighborhood has a well furnished supermarket, a delicatessen, fresh produce shops and a excellent home-run restaurant. While not downtown, public transportation connects RIPE's B&B very well to the historic center. Trains are available every 10 minutes, while travel time is only 15 minutes. The trains run from one of the city's main transport hubs: Ostiense/Piramide. Here, guests have access to the metro, buses and trains.
