MENA – Family-Run Guesthouse in Marling near Merano Our historic house, first documented in 1652, combines long-standing tradition with modern comfort. For four generations, we have been welcoming guests with personal care, simplicity, and attention to detail. You stay independently in your own unit while always having a dedicated contact person on site. Our accommodations have been newly redesigned and feature underfloor heating for cooler months, air conditioning for summer days, and a shower with soothing infrared warmth – ideal for relaxing after an active day. In the main building, a lift connects the floors. During the warmer months, enjoy our 10 × 4 meter outdoor saltwater pool with massage jets and counter-current system. In winter, our private sauna can be booked exclusively. A special highlight is our historic cellar located directly beneath the house. Every Friday at 5 pm, we offer a guided cellar tour – participation is complimentary for our house guests. For breakfast, you remain flexible: accommodation only, bread delivery service, or a lovingly prepared breakfast basket with regional products. Collect it at your preferred time and enjoy it in your apartment, on the terrace, or by the pool. Our in-house shop is accessible 24 hours a day and offers regional specialties, drinks, and practical items for your stay – simple, convenient, and based on trust. A lockable guest storage room with personal space for each unit and a complimentary washing machine are also available. MENA is open all year round and is an ideal base for exploring the Merano region.

We are hosts in the fourth generation and run MENA as a family. The name “MENA” is a quiet tribute to our great-grandmother Filomena, who first began welcoming guests here and laid the foundation for our hospitality tradition. MENA has intentionally remained a small house with character. A place with a personal atmosphere, clear structure, and thoughtful details. It is important to us that you feel independent while knowing you are well looked after. We live here in the Merano region and know the area from experience – from peaceful irrigation trails to local restaurants, from alpine huts to Christmas markets. Marling is a sunny village above Merano, combining rural charm with immediate proximity to the city. The village center with bakery, restaurants, and shops is just a short walk away. Merano is only a few minutes away and offers promenades, events, the thermal spa, and a unique blend of Alpine and Mediterranean lifestyle. Numerous hiking trails start directly near the house, including the well-known South Tyrolean irrigation trails (“Waalwege”). The Vigiljoch mountain, Ultental valley, and Schnalstal valley are also easily accessible. In winter, several ski areas are within reach, including Merano 2000, Schnalstal, Pfelders, and Ultental. Christmas markets in Merano, Bolzano, and nearby villages create a festive atmosphere during Advent. Thanks to good bus and train connections, the region can be explored comfortably without a car. With the MeranCard, you can use public transport throughout South Tyrol free of charge and enjoy access to numerous museums.
