This is not a standard rental — it’s a place with character, designed for a slower, more intentional way of living.
Hello, my name is Ana. I love to travel — not to tick places off a list, but to truly feel the spirit of a place and live like a local, even if just for a short time.
As both a traveler and a host, I bring that experience into welcoming guests to our cozy home in Varallo, a charming town at the gateway to the Alps. For me, travel is a way to see life from a new perspective, slow down, and notice the small, meaningful details.
Our house was built in the early 19th century and is located in the historic district of Varallo Vecchia. We restored it with care, keeping its original character while adding the comfort needed for a relaxed stay.
My husband and I work in the field of art, so we naturally pay attention to atmosphere, light, and details. We wanted to create a space that feels calm, simple, and welcoming — a place where you can settle in easily and feel at home.
We live in the same house and are always nearby if you need anything, while fully respecting your privacy and space.
Varallo is a small town full of character, where history, art, and everyday Italian life come together naturally. You can wander through quiet streets, visit local museums, or stop by the Pinacoteca di Varallo to see beautiful Renaissance works.
Just above the town is the unique Sacro Monte di Varallo, a UNESCO World Heritage site. A path leads you through a series of chapels filled with frescoes and life-size figures — almost like an open-air story set in the landscape. You can walk up through the greenery or take the small historic Funicular of Varallo. At the top, you’ll find a peaceful sanctuary and wide views over the valley.
The town has many old churches that are always worth stepping into, each with its own atmosphere. Varallo is also closely connected to Gaudenzio Ferrari, whose work you’ll see in several places around town.
Throughout the year, there’s a relaxed local life here, with cafés, small shops, and restaurants. In summer, the Alpàa Festival brings music, food, and a lively atmosphere to the streets.
If you enjoy being outdoors, you’ll find plenty to do. The nearby Monte Rosa Natural Park offers hiking in the mountains, while the area around town is full of quiet forest paths for easy walks.
For a change of scenery, Lake Orta is close by — perfect for a swim, kayaking, or simply sitting by the water. Rivers in the valley are great for fishing or just cooling off on a warm day.
A place to slow down, explore, and enjoy things at your own pace.
