In the heart of Umbria, Villa Elisa is a historic residence that has been recently renovated with style. Located in the historic centre of Spello, it is preciously situated between the most beautiful villages in Italy, where time seems to stand still.
The property is strategically set between exquisitely-preserved alleyways, where you can breathe in the healthy air of Umbria. It offers unsurpassed views of the most evocative landscapes of this region: Trevi, Montefalco, Foligno and nearby Assisi, the city of St Francis.
The interior is finely decorated with handcrafted furnishings, restored antiques, prestigious finishes and some of the most important artworks by Naïf painter Norberto, who originated from and based his artistic activities in the Spello territory.
The house itself is split over several levels, with 3 double bedrooms (one with en-suite) plus two bathrooms, all with very comfortable and refined classic-modern furnishings.
Spello is an Italian municipality of 8,590 inhabitants in the province of Perugia in Umbria. It is located at the foot of Mount Subasio and is approximately 5 km from Foligno and 30 from Perugia.
The surface area of the municipality stretches into the mountains, hills and plains. Cereals, vines and olive trees grow in the area’s very fertile lands.
The olive tree is the source of Spello’s most precious gastronomic product: extra virgin olive oil. It is no surprise that Spello, as well as being known as one of the most beautiful towns in Italy, is also part of the Associazione Nazionale Città dell’Olio (National Association of Oil Towns).
Weekly markets and thriving folkloristic events are held here, among which the Infiorata del Corpus Domini (Corpus Domini Flower Festival) and the festival of oil, which take place respectively in the May-June and December-January periods. Inside the town, there are numerous works of art dating back to the Roman and Renaissance periods. In fact, the largest church in Spello, that of Santa Maria Maggiore, boasts splendid frescoes by Pinturicchio, which are kept in the Baglioni Chapel.
The house is traversed through an open-space area equipped with television and sofa. With an interior totalling 160 sqm, the house is spacious and airy, with large panoramic windows.
A comfortable dine-in kitchen contains all amenities and even has a raised external patio that is perfect for outdoor dining backdropped by the enchanting Valle Umbra.
Aside from the patio, the lower level features a lush and carefully-curated garden, equipped with a 6-person Jacuzzi hot tub and a sitting area including sunbeds and access to the spa area, where there is a sauna, Turkish bath and emotional shower, all by Jacuzzi.
The strategic location allows you to spend a relaxing holiday, whilst simultaneously providing easy access to the important centres of Umbria, Lazio, Tuscany and Marche.
