Hello! We are an Australian family living in Hakuba and have been welcoming guests to our chalet since 2007. Living in the mountains is something we truly love, and we enjoy sharing this special place with visitors from around the world. We take pride in offering a relaxed, welcoming stay and are always happy to share our local knowledge to help guests enjoy everything Hakuba has to offer.

Property info

Bears Den is a private mountain lodge in Hakuba, designed for families, groups of friends, and travellers seeking space and comfort. The chalet is offered as fully self-contained accommodation. All bedrooms feature private ensuite bathrooms. The chalet’s open-plan living and dining area features high ceilings, exposed wooden beams, heated floors, and comfortable western furnishings. A large Jimmy Possum dining table, open fireplace, and bar area create a welcoming space to relax, entertain, or enjoy après-ski together. A separate media room offers Italian leather couches, Koala sofa bed and a large TV, the perfect place to unwind after a day on the mountain. Ski resorts, restaurants, and bars are just a short stroll from the chalet. Open year-round, Bears Den is not your typical place to stay in Japan. Purpose-built for mountain enthusiasts, this Western-style private lodge offers spacious, self-contained accommodation in stunning Goryu Village.
