Our work on this street began long before the hotel. From fine-art printing — colors layered, sheet by sheet, a craft that quietly earned its recognition at home and abroad — to advertising, to the shaping of small buildings tucked into alleyways, to the quiet festivals of a neighborhood. Across generations, our work has stayed, hand-led, in this quiet stretch of old Tokyo, anchored in Taito. Through this stretch of shitamachi runs a single road. Kototoi Avenue — an east–west line that threads from Tokyo's Bunkyō cultural quarter to the old temple town of Asakusa. Its heart sits in Taito, and it slips across the ward line, easing into Arakawa. We've come to call this stretch the Kototoi District. It's the very street our local media, Kototoi Sanpo®, has been walking and writing for ten years. Hotel Kotoi East is the next chapter in that story. It stands a few minutes' walk from Taito, in Higashi-Nippori, Arakawa — the eastern edge of the same Kototoi District. A few other houses of ours quietly dot the same district. The person at our front desk isn't reading from a brochure — they're the same local writer who has been sending us stories from the Kototoi District for years. "Know anywhere good?" — that's where your trip starts. Our hotel only opened in February 2026 the building is brand new and meets the latest building standards, ensuring it is of a robust construction.

There are two large supermarkets in the vicinity, and there is a convenience store just nearby. The nearest stations—JR Uguisudani Station, JR Nippori Station and Mikawashima Station—are all within a 10-minute walk, and the hotel offers excellent access to major tourist attractions such as Tokyo Station, Shibuya Station, Asakusa Station, Roppongi Station and Harajuku Station. The hotel is situated in a very quiet area, allowing you to enjoy a relaxing stay. As there are plenty of local shops in the area, do ask the reception staff for their recommendations—they’ll help make your trip a memorable one.
