Matsunokitei “Irori” is a spacious 6-bedroom private chalet, perfect for families and groups. The chalet features a fully equipped kitchen, bathroom, separate toilets, a large private garden, and a cozy living room with a traditional Japanese irori (sunken hearth). An irori is a traditional Japanese open hearth built into the floor, historically used for heating and cooking. Gather around the irori, enjoy a small barbecue, share drinks, and spend warm, memorable moments together. Please note that charcoal is required to use the irori. Charcoal is not included and must be prepared separately. The kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, rice cooker, microwave, toaster oven, and a full set of tableware and cooking utensils—everything you need to feel at home. Relax in the unique rock-style bath, a rare and authentic Japanese bathing experience. During the summer season, you can enjoy barbecues and fireworks in the spacious private garden. **Please note that the chalet does not have air conditioning.** Tsugaike Kogen is located in a cool mountain area, where mornings and evenings are generally comfortable even during the summer months. Make yourself at home and enjoy your stay as if it were your second house.

Just a 3-minute walk to the Tsugaike Kogen Ski Resort gondola station, offering easy access to skiing and snowboarding during the winter season. In summer, guests can enjoy trekking in Tsugaike Nature Park. The chalet is also an excellent base for serious mountain climbing, including Mount Shirouma (Mt. Hakuba) and Tenguhara. Hakuba Iwatake, famous for mountain biking and its scenic giant swing, is only a 15-minute drive away. Hakuba Norikura is just 10 minutes by car, making this property a convenient location for exploring the Hakuba area year-round.
