"Nedokoto Asage" is run by a Japanese husband and his Taiwanese wife. Although we grew up in different cultures, we share the same belief: that travel is not just about sightseeing, but about experiencing life in a new place. This philosophy is at the heart of everything we do. My wife was an interior designer in Taiwan before moving to Japan. She has always admired traditional Japanese architecture, and this guesthouse is the result of her passion and careful attention to detail. Every corner has been thoughtfully designed to preserve the beauty of this traditional Japanese house while adding modern comfort. We hope you will feel the unique atmosphere created by the harmony of Japanese aesthetics and the gentle warmth of Taiwanese design. My own journey began in 2012, when I opened **Namakemono**, the first traditional guesthouse in Fukui Prefecture. Before that, I worked as an office employee, but after experiencing serious health problems, I found myself questioning the meaning of work, happiness, and even life itself. Travel changed everything. By meeting people, discovering new places, and slowing down enough to appreciate the world around me, I rediscovered the joy of living and found my true purpose. I decided to dedicate my life to sharing the beauty of Echizen Ono with travelers from around the world. At the time, many people told me, "No one will come to Ono," or "Foreign tourists would never visit such a small town." But I believed this place had incredible potential that even many local people had yet to discover. Through years of welcoming guests and sharing the region's hidden treasures, that belief has become reality. Today, visitors from Japan and around the world come to experience Ono, and many return again and again as dear friends.
