I used to drive buses on the Hakone mountain routes, so I know every hidden corner of this region. At Tipy, we have a tradition called "Record Paper" -- guests bring a record or CD, write their music story, and leave it on our walls. Hundreds of travelers have contributed their favorite songs and memories. Bring yours and get 500 yen off your stay. I offer walking tours of Odawara -- a castle town with century-old bakeries, fresh seafood, and ocean views that most tourists miss. Stay here, explore Hakone by day, and discover a side of Japan that guidebooks don't cover.

hanare is the main building of Tipy records inn, a "scattered hotel" (albergo diffuso) -- a collection of unique guesthouses within walking distance of each other near Odawara Station. This 70-year-old renovated kominka (traditional Japanese house) is a 3-minute walk from the station. The house has 4 private rooms with shared kitchen, bathroom, and toilets. The walls are covered with hundreds of "Record Papers" -- music stories left by guests from around the world. Bring a record or CD, write your story, and get 500 yen off your stay. Free Wi-Fi throughout. Convenience stores, supermarkets, and local restaurants are within a 2-minute walk. Odawara is the gateway to Hakone -- hot springs and Lake Ashi are just 15-60 minutes away by bus, at a fraction of Hakone hotel prices. Please note: as a renovated vintage house, some sound may carry between rooms. We ask guests to be considerate of each other. Check-in is from 15:00 to 22:00. Our reception cafe is open from 13:00, so feel free to drop by early and relax before check-in.

Odawara Castle is about 15 minutes walk from here. It was just renovated in 2016 so it looks stunning. There is also a hot springs nearby where you can spend a relaxing time. Especially if you go to Hakone this house is definitely recommend. You will surely be satisfied. Train: Odawara Station serves the JR Tokaido line, Tokaido Shinkansen, and the Odakyu Line. You can also go to Lake Ashi at Hakone using the bus. From odawara station Hakone yumoto 15minuts. Lake Ashi 60minutes. Kamakura 45minutes. Shinjyuku 85minutes. Gotenba premium outlets 100minutes. Lake Kawaguchi 120 minutes. By Shinkansen Tokyo 33minutes. Osaka 180minutes. Kyouto 160minutes. If you come by car please park in a nearby toll parking lot.
