We are a srilankan/American couple who spend time between both countries. Chuta loves to surf and bbq while I love traveling, cultur & exploring more of Sri Lanka. We love meeting travelers from all over the world.

Barefoot Bungalow is newly built and definitely one of a kind in Hikkaduwa. Careful attention to detail was incorporated throughout the build, using local Teak wood for all doors, windows and cabinets, and the beautifully multi colored grain Suriya wood, for all bedroom furnishings. The 5 bedrooms have attached modern bathrooms, with rainfall showers, solar hot water and mirrored vanity cabinets. Each room boasts an intricately carved super king size canopy bed with a luxurious 11 inch foam mattress, and a delicate hand made, tie back mosquito net, trimmed in white lace. 2 large bed side tables are found on either side of the bed. All the rooms come standard with brand new AC units and fans. A uniquely designed cupboard adorns the wall, as well as live edge wood work desk if your vacations requires it. Each room also has its own patio. Barefoot Bungalow is equipped with 2 kitchens, one upstairs and one downstairs. Both have a 5 burner stove top with oven, 2 full size fridges, a 10 kg washing machine, and cabinets that hold a well stocked supply of plates, bowls, cooking pots and pans. Your home away from home is located on an island surrounded by rice fields. This island is named “Wanduruduwa”, in the local language, which translates to Monkey Island. Here, you are fully immersed in nature and all it’s tranquility. Your balcony is the perfect place to witness nature at it awakens with the calls of peacocks&tree birds. Barefoot Bungalow is located in the popular Narigama area of Hikkaduwa. We are 1 km away, or a short 10 minute walk to picturesque Narigama Beach. Hikkaduwa is a seaside resort town, famous for its long sandy beaches on the beautiful southwestern coast of Sri Lanka. It boasts multiple surf breaks for all levels of surfers and boogie boarders. There is a coral sanctuary that’s home to turtles and exotic fish that is excellent for snorkeling. The 7 km of beach hosts myriads of beachfront restaurants with sun beds, bars and an active nightlife.
