The Cottage in Bentota is a stylish village homestay and private villa with pool and only minutes away from the beaches, restaurants and bars in the area. The Cottage offers a plunge / tanning pool, garden bbq, luxury beddings, projection cinema and shaded tropical gardens to ensure you an amazing and relaxed stay in Sri Lanka. We offer daily housekeeping, pool & garden service and a private cook can also be arranged on request. The property is also conveniently located between Colombo & Galle. The building is a typical village home which we have carefully restored and re-designed to offer a more comfortable and stylish space for our guests. The unique plunge and tanning pool is set in the gardens which offers lovely direct sun and shade under the coconut palms. There are a total of 3 air-conditioned bedrooms including a master king with en-suite bathroom, a double bedroom overlooking the pool and a third twin bedroom with garden views. The kitchen is well appointed for self-catering although we do recommend you consider the option of booking a cook for your stay. Guests will have access to the entire villa, including the gardens, pool and fully functional kitchen.
Originally from Norfolk Island I have been residing in Sri Lanka since 2002 managing an exclusive collection of Boutique Hotels, Villas and Heritage Homestays. In addition to The Cottage Bentota we have Nisala Arana in Bentota, Mount Lodge in Colombo and Highgrove Estate in Nuwara Eliya. A private Boutique Trails tour including transport and rail travel can be arranged. I look forward to discussing your upcoming travels to Sri Lanka.
Bentota is a peaceful and sleepy coastal town with much on offer to experience. We recommend visits to the beach, Bawa gardens, seafood & fruit markets, temples, river safari's and mangrove catamaran trips. In the town you will discover lovely antique shops, gem merchants and traditional carving, craft and tea shops. Buy yourself a sarong, grab a king coconut and get out and enjoy all that Bentota has on offer! The Cottage is conveniently located near the town of Bentota and public transport options are available. If coming from the airport we do recommend booking a transfer with us and you might also consider the option of hiring a driver and vehicle for your stay. This way you can enjoy a number of recommended day-trips and will always have transport when you need. For exploring the local area we can help to arrange bicycles, scooters, tuk tuk's and A/C taxis as required.
