Nestled in the Valley of Chamarel, ChamGaia offers you the ultimate private eco-villa experience. Designed with tranquillity and relaxation in mind, ChamGaia is an organic modern hideaway located in the Seven Colored Earth Park, fusing natural simplicity with contemporary luxuries. We promise you an immersive experience that explores the interaction between off-the-grid living, elegance, and comfort, in one of the most breath-taking landscapes of Mauritius. The whole villa (333m2) consists of 3 separate units: The House (210m2) + 2 additional detached suites (72m2 and 51m2). The main space, ‘The House’ is the heart of ChamGaia where our guests can enjoy a full family living style, surrounded by nature, featuring an open planned fully equipped kitchen, a lounge, and a veranda with a double-sided indoor/outdoor fireplace, two bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms, all surrounded by a glimpse of the Indian Ocean and unspoiled nature & mountains. Two additional ’detached suites’ are available for extra friends and family. Both Suites feature their own private bedroom with ensuite bathroom and terrace with Le Morne and Piton Canot as your personal backdrop. When booking ChamGaia, you will be the only occupants of the property. FOOD ChamGaia is a self-catering villa. During the daytime, there are restaurants and local snack options in the village but in the evening everything is closed. If you feel like dining out, the closest options will be in La Gaulette and Baie du Cap, both at a 20min drive. You can also opt for Black River with several restaurant options at a 30min drive. GROCERIES There is a small local shop in the village for basics such as sugar, oil, and butter. We recommend you do your shopping in La Gaulette (20min), Black River (25min), or Tamarin (30min). You will also find several fruit and vegetable stalls on the road whilst driving around. Special attention on Sundays as most shops and supermarkets on the island will close around 12am.

LOCATION The picturesque village of Chamarel is famous for its windy roads, scenic views, and unique geological features making it one of the most popular places to visit in Mauritius. ChamGaia has a unique hidden location in the famous Seven Colored Earth Park, at only 450m away from the Chamarel Waterfall and 1,600m from the Seven Colored Earth Geopark. The park also hosts ‘Ebony Forest’ with beautiful hikes and viewpoints, and ‘Lavilleon Adventure Park’ proposes zip-lining among other activities. Other suggestions in the village: Curious corner and the Chamarel Rhumerie distillery. Chamarel is bordered by the Black River Gorges national park which features many hiking trails with spectacular viewpoints and waterfalls. If you’re not into hiking, no worries, you will still be able to access several viewpoints. If you feel like spending a day at the beach, you’ll be able to discover beautiful spots at Bel Ombre, La Prairie, Le Morne, and Tamarin all reachable within a 30-minute drive. Golf enthusiasts can discover four spectacular 18-Hole golf courses, (Paradis, Bel Ombre, Tamarina, and Avalon) within a 30 minutes drive. The famous surfing, windsurfing, and kite surfing spot at Le Morne is only a 20-minute drive away. ChamGaia is surrounded by tropical nature, you may experience mosquitoes and other small insects, especially at sunset. (Mosquito coils and electric repellents are provided all over the villa). HOW TO MOVE AROUND The most convenient mode of transport whilst staying with us is definitely a rental car. Please take a careful look at the map, we are a 60 min drive from the international airport and 20 min from the first supermarket. RECOMMENDED LENGTH OF STAY With so many things to do and see in and around Chamarel, we recommend spending at least 3 nights to fully enjoy ChamGaia's immersive experience and everything its surroundings has to offer.
