This simple and authentic Mauritian cottage has been lovingly preserved to retain its original Creole character, atmosphere and charm. It is designed for guests who appreciate authenticity and nature rather than modern perfection. The furniture is intentionally traditional and forms part of the story and character of the house. While we continuously maintain and care for the property, it remains a rustic tropical cottage rather than a modern luxury villa. Living close to nature also means sharing the environment with geckos and small ants, which are common in Mauritius. Geckos are harmless, help keep insects away, and are very welcome guests in our home. Very occasionally, a small field mouse may also wander through, as can happen in traditional countryside homes. If you are looking for genuine island charm, tranquillity, nature and an authentic Mauritian experience, you will feel at home here.

The pretty Cottage is fully equipped and very comfortable for 4 people, with private pool. In the middle of nature, surrounded by Deers, Birds and coconut trees and only 50 meters from the lonely beach! It is not modern but mauritian! The Terrace is spacious and the room nicely furnished. The view from the bed overlooks the beautiful garden and large trees and the terrace gives sight on the beautiful landscape and mountain around the property. Very relaxing, away from all , a little paradise seldom to find! The Cottage is 30 meters from the Villa La Cocoteraie and 100 meters from Zaza, totally separate and discrete. Nobody will disturb you. The House has 2 bedrooms , each with bathroom/wc en suite and Air Condition. Small Lounge and open kitchen opening onto a large terrace and salon. One of the bedrooms opens directly onto the terrace and is not connected to the other rooms, making the house ideal for couples or families with children over eight years old. However, younger children are welcome if they share a room with an adult. There is a Pool and covered terrace with a wooden table and benches to enjoy great lunches or diners and a Salon to relax in the afternoon or a Cocktail evening. The Housemaid comes 2 hours per day to clean. It is possible to have a cook for an extra fee • Bedsheets and towels are provided free of charge. • The terrace extends into the garden and pool area. • An additional covered terrace with a wooden table and benches is perfect for barbecues or evening cocktails. • The fully equipped kitchen includes a water filter, eliminating the need to buy bottled water.

Surroundings & Activities The beach is just across the small coastal road, 100 meters away. With fine sand and a gentle water entry, it is ideal for swimmers of all ages. The bay is well-protected, offering great conditions for swimming and snorkeling year-round. The southern coastline is wild and picturesque, featuring stunning beaches and cliffs eastward. While public buses stop in front of the property every 30 minutes, renting a car is recommended for visiting nearby attractions such as: • Chamarel • Black River Gorges National Park • Souillac & Gris-Gris cliffs For water sports enthusiasts: • A kite school is just a 3-minute drive or 10-minute walk away. • The world-famous kitesurfing and windsurfing spot, "One Eye," is only 10 minutes away by car. Other activities include: • Boat rentals in Le Morne village for fishing, dolphin swimming, catamaran tours, diving, snorkeling, and deep-sea fishing. • Golfing at Le Morne Brabant Golf Course (nearby) and Bel Ombre Golf Course (15-minute drive).
