This houseboat is brand-new. The B&B just opened late 2018 and the houseboat itself was built around that time making it a super comfortable and luxurious experience. The floor is heated with floor heating giving it a comfortable warmth and the view over the Amstel River is breathtaking. Every day rowing boats pass by and you can literately touch the water from the sliding windows that open all the way giving you a very wide and bride view.
The bathroom has a power shower and everything is cleaned thoroughly to give you this hotel experience. Bed linnen is of a high quality and so are the mattresses of the Queen Size bed.
There are no cooking facilities but a nice kitchenette with a fridge and breakfast making facilities like coffee and tea making and a microwave. I've soundproofed the walls for extra privacy. There are only 3 steps to go into the houseboat, no steep stairs like in most old Amsterdam houses.
*** important: the room name says: room with sea view, but of course Amsterdam has no sea, so this should be Amstel River view, the pool that is mentioned is the Amstel River, you can swim in here in summer time as do the locals (me) ***
As a host I love to travel myself. I was born in the United States but grew up in the small town of Enkhuizen in the Netherlands. I've been working in tech, but my passion is really hosting people and my culinary endeavours. You can always ask me for nice restaurants in the neighbourhood and I'm pretty sure I can find you something you like.

This neighbourhood is super centrally located. A walk of 15-20 minutes along the beautiful Amstel River will take you straight into the centre/china town/ red light district. A 15 - 25 minute walk the other direction takes you to all the grand museums like Van Gogh and the Rijks. Of course you don't have to walk, the new and famous North South Metro line is just 2 blocks down and there are trams around the corner to. The Pijp Area is often revered to as 'the quarter Latin' of Amsterdam with all the trendy bars and restaurants. This quarter is also home to the famous Heineken Brewery and close to various Micro Breweries.
