IMPORTANT: Final cleaning is done by the tenant. Bed linen and towels can be rented. There is no running water in the cabin. 15 liters of water in canisters will be placed in the cabin upon arrival. If guests need more water during their stay, there is a tap available on the east wall of the selet (main house), about 50 m from the cabin. A utility sink is located in the kitchen. An outdoor toilet and a shared bathroom with shower and WC in the main house are shared with the Stallen cabin. The bathroom in the main house is for guests only and will be available throughout the stay. BEDROOMS: There are no separate bedrooms in the cabin. However, there is 1 double bed and 1 single bed. The beds are old pull-out beds. One is set up as a double bed in the living room, and one is a single bed located in the hallway/bedroom area. Both are 165 cm long. Extra inflatable mattresses in full length (200 cm) for better comfort are available in the cabin. ABOUT THE CABIN: Smia – a charming small cabin from 1900 in Valdres. Smia is a unique and cozy cabin beautifully located at Klasstølen in Etnedal, 612 meters above sea level. From the veranda you have a view over the farmyard and the mountains to the west, and the forest just outside provides both peace and a close-to-nature atmosphere. The cabin has an exciting history as an old blacksmith’s forge, but was completely renovated into a cabin in 2023. It combines modern comfort with reuse and soul. Here you will find underfloor heating, a wood-burning stove, and a charming kitchen with all necessary equipment. Water is fetched in canisters from the nearby selet (main house) about 50 meters from the cabin, and it is possible to use the shower there. The outdoor area has a swing set and sandbox for free use. Smia is compact and snug, perfect for those who want a simple, authentic cabin experience close to nature.

Klasstøltunet, where the cabin is located, consists of the main cabin, an outbuilding, Stallen, Smia, the pond house, and of course the fishing pond. The owner lives in the main cabin, and there may also be guests in Stallen. There is plenty of space between the cabins, so it is spacious for everyone. The area offers great hiking opportunities all year round, with forest, lakes, and mountains right outside the door. It is easy to combine activity and relaxation in beautiful surroundings. Excellent cycling opportunities are available just outside the cabin. Smia is located in the heart of moose country, surrounded by easy hiking terrain in open pine forest and wide boglands. The area is rich in bird and wildlife – here you may see everything from small birds and frogs to moose, roe deer, and foxes. In summer, there are good opportunities for berry picking and nice hiking destinations such as Åbbortjernet or Byfuglia. Fishing permits can be purchased nearby. In winter, you will find marked ski trails about 20 minutes away by car, and there are also great opportunities for backcountry skiing or snowshoeing прямо from the cabin. There is also a short distance to an alpine ski center.
