Chalet Karaka is a private accommodation situated on the same land as the main house. Nestled amongst the native trees on the banks of the Rameka stream. Be lulled by the gentle trickle of the stream and native bird song. You can see Kereru and Tui visiting the nikaus and kowhai trees outside your bedroom window. The accommodation has been lovingly crafted using local and exotic timbers and tiles to create a unique and luxurious feeling of home.

We enjoy sharing our love for the Golden Bay area and are happy to recommend an itinerary for your stay. We enjoy the local rivers, mountain biking, camping, tramping, horse riding and travelling, we can share our local tips with you.

A semi-rural environment in a friendly neighbourhood with mountain and bush views surround. 3 mins to Takaka village, close to beautiful swimming holes, the famous climbing area Paynes Ford and world class mountain biking tracks up the Rameka road. 12 mins to Pohara beach. A great place to explore the magic of Golden Bay, situated between 2 national parks, the Abel Tasman and the Kahurangi. 30 minutes from Collingwood and the start of the Farewell Spit tours. 1 min to the medical centre
