Mount Paku dominates the horizon as well as offering amazing views from the summit. There’s a thriving community, with excellent restaurants, cafes, galleries and shops , lots of great walks and cycle tracks, a golf course – and year-round fishing. Harbourview is just five minutes' walk from the town centre and estuary beaches and a short drive or 20-minute walk to the ocean beach. After nine seasons running The Harbour View as a popular B&B, hosting guests from all over the world, Jane and Chris are downsizing from the summer of 2026, offering 'room only' with no breakfast. Guests will still have full access to the guest lounge, with fridge, microwave, separate seating and utensils, And the garden/patio/pool area has a dining table, as well as a covered alcove with seating and a small BBQ, And of course Jane and Chris will be available during your stay with tips and suggestions for getting the most out of the wonderful Coromandel.

This is a great base for exploring the whole of the Coromandel. The world-famous Hot Water Beach and Cathedral Cove are nearby, the Pacific Ocean is across our harbour. Great walks, fascinating history, beautiful wildlife, markets, coastal towns and the Coromandel Pinnacles are all nearby. The harbour teems with birdlife, from colourful kingfisher to world-record migratory Godwits. There are local fishing trips, chances to sail, golf courses everywhere, cycle parhers, walking trails and great local food.
