The lodge itself is beautiful. It has a wide deck and amazing views from every room. The breakfast is mixed with homemade items and traditional staples that will please anyone. The beds are comfortable. Guests have access to the kitchen so while we originally planned to eat out for dinner, we instead picked up some groceries and prepared our own meals each night. Kerry was a wonderful, preparing the breakfast and offfering tips on what to visit around the area.

Coromandel Central Cottage was the perfect place to stay in Coromandel Town. The cottage was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The location was amazing, right in the middle of town and yet it had a private terrace with a dining table and a seating area in addition to the indoor space. The facilities were exceptional and we really enjoyed our time there.

The road from Thames to Coromandel Town is very winding but beautiful. The town itself is quaint and quiet, a great place to relax. MUST VISIT - Driving Creek Railway and Potteries. Also enjoyed Weta Cafe for lunch - Bang Bang Chicken was a standout. Check out The Big Kauri Tree at Long Bay - lovely bushwalk for an hour if you continue down to Tucks Bay

Liked the view out to the sea & watching the birdlife. Great to be close to Coromandel without being right in the town. We loved our stay. Had a beautiful meal at The Peppertree. We liked Oamaru Bay & travelling around the different Bays.

Walking through the Kauri at Long Bay. Driving Creek railway, Waterworks - been to both before but they didn't disappoint - even with teens! Also great experience, food, service and prices at the pub and Taco food van.

The town itself is small and friendly, but my main reason for being there was to explore the local landscapes, which were gorgeous, and the Driving Creek Railway, which was extraordinary, and really not-to-be missed if you're in the area. The story of how it was built over many decades through the dedication and drive of one man was deeply moving and inspiring. The trip to the top was unforgettable. I'd definitely do it all again if I had the chance!

The view was wonderful. Very private accommodation, beds very comfortable, facilities excellent. Immaculate presentation. Our hosts Dennise and Malcom, made us feel special. Only 10 minutes to Coromandel Town with very good cafes and restaurants. Our stay was quiet and peaceful, wish we could have stayed longer.

Excellent facilities. Very comfortable, clean and well maintained. Convenient for Coromandel Town cafes and shops. We didn’t find the road traffic (mentioned in other reviews) intrusive. We enjoyed the walk next to the house (it’s steep but great views).
