The location was 5 min from Alexandra, in a vineyard. The room was clean and we were in top of the hill where the vineyard was just outside the windows. The owner were very hospitality. Breakfast was beyond our expectations. We tasted the wine....

Our property is primarily a vineyard with our hosted accommodation and Spring and Summer are busy with the vineyard, spraying mowing etc. We do advise our guests what is happening while they are here. We are located outside of the local township, so please be aware that if you are cycling here to allow for that. We are a bed & breakfast with the option to book in for dinner, we do not have any self-catering facilities at all but there is tea & coffee and a guest fridge for your use. Our two en-suite rooms are situated next door to each other so if you want complete privacy then you will need to book both rooms.
We love to sit and chat with our guests about our vineyard and give you the opportunity to taste what we have, as John is an avid gardener and if you have booked in for dinner you may want to wander around the vege/fruit patch to see what might be on the menu. Fresh raspberries, strawberries, blueberries are a must taste if you are lucky enough to be here in the summer season. John's past career he was a coach driver & Suzanne was in travel so between the both of them they have lots of knowledge of the local area and New Zealand as well so can advise you on your onward travel if needed. Also if you are planning a trip and are having trouble with the best way to navigate around, drop us an email we maybe able to help you. hawkdunrise @xtra.co.nz
We have wonderful walking and cycling tracks, take a cruise down the river to learn about the gold-mining days of the 1860's. There is a variety of places to dine but we encourage you to pre-book if you are wanting a specific restaurant. Clyde Township have 3 great places to dine so pre booking is essential through our summer months. Otherwise book in for dinner at Hawkdun Rise and enjoy the long daylight hours of the summer months sitting outside.
