Escape to the tranquil Kanuka Cottage, nestled in a serene rural setting, but only a two minute drive to the white sands of Cooks Beach. Welcome to a peaceful haven where nature's beauty embraces you at every turn. Situated on a rural lifestyle block on a hill behind Cooks Beach, it is private and perfect for a romantic getaway! This 1950's cottage has one bedroom with a queen bed. There is a kitchenette, with small fridge/freezer, microwave, electric frying pan and coffee maker. The kitchen and dining area open onto a large sunny deck with a BBQ, which is partially covered. There is a separate bathroom with toilet, shower and vanity. The lounge area includes a TV and DVD player, two seater couch and bean bags. The cottage and deck overlooks a small stream and bush, a small orchard and also has rural views. Kanuka cottage has it's own drive entrance and parking for two cars. Please note that WiFi is now available!

Cooks Beach A north facing, white sand beach, great for lazing in the sun. Good for swimming, kayaking and paddle boarding, not a surf beach. In the summer there's usually a pontoon at the western end of the beach to swim to. The Purangi River (eastern end) is a great place to kayak and explore, plus a sea cave at the western end of the beach. Flaxmill Bay A short walk (about 1km) from Cooks Beach is Flaxmill Bay. You may want to go via the tracks on Shakespeare Cliff. Quite tidal, but lovely and safe for swimming. Lots of nice rock formations too. Cathedral Cove Just 12km away to Hahei - see this awesome New Zealand landmark Hot Water Beach 14km - a short drive to enjoy the natural hot pools. Grab the spade we provide to dig your own hole! Kaizen at Go Vino Lovely food, perfect for a romantic dinner! Great little garden bar, awesome wine and craft beers. Gets busy so pays to book. Ryan does coffee, danishes and bread in the mornings too sometimes. The Vessel Casual and relaxing open air bar in town centre. Often will have sports on the big screen. Nice to have a drink after a day at the beach. The Hive Casual dining, just a couple of kms from Cooks Beach. Set outside among the Kiwifruit vines. Family friendly. Eggsentric Cafe And Restaurant At Flaxmill Bay, open for brunch and lunch from 9am usually. Nice place for a coffee. Often will have music in the summer. The best carrot cake in town!
