Kepler Mountain View Alpaca Cottage is located on our stud alpaca farm on the edge of Fiordland National Park at Lake Manapouri. Outstanding views can be enjoyed of the Fiordland mountains in every direction along with a beautiful rural aspect. An outdoor living area surrounded by gardens contains a spa pool (hot tub) so guests can soak in the spa pool under the stars and also includes a gas BBQ to enjoy long summer evenings outside. If guest wish they can join us in hand feeding the alpacas and will have alpacas close to the cottage to enjoy at anytime. The cottage is private with its own gardens and outdoor living area surrounded by the larger gardens around our property. Our whole property is run by solar power (backed up by hydro electricity from the grid if necessary during winter), our water is rain water caught and stored then filtered. Large native plantings around the cottage and property provide excellent habitat for our native birdlife with Tuis, Bell Birds, Fantails and Kereru being common. Our farming practices ensure we have a very light footprint.

Jessie is a fibre artist who works from her studio on the farm and showcases and sells her hand crafted alpaca garments at her Wild Wool Gallery located beside her studio and along with Ray manages and looks after our stud herds of Alpacas which we raise for their luxurious fine fibre. We have run 3 Alpaca Studs specialising in Leopard Appaloosa, Black and Grey alpacas. You will get to meet our alpaca herd during your stay with us and find out about farming them if interested in doing so and also get to see the many uses of their fibre. We are ideally located within easy reach of many fishing spots and Ray is happy to share these with guests. We are both well versed in Fiordland having spent many years enjoying all Fiordland has to offer and can give you lots of ideas and tips for enjoying and making the most of your time in Fiordland.

Lake Manapouri is the heart of Fiordland National Park, there are unlimited opportunites to enjoy yourself from being very adventurous to more sedate just relaxing and enjoying the ambience of being in such a beautiful unspoilt environment. Try your hand at fishing, go jet boating, hiking or short walks, photography, cruise Doubtful and Milford Sounds and Lake Manapouri and Te Anau, visit the Glow Worm Caves, go for a bike or horse ride and the many other activites available in this area. Our neighbour hood is quiet and away from the rush of people.
