This guest house was a wonderful stay and I was very comfortable. I received a warm welcome upon arrival by Philippa and she had given me a better room which had a beautiful window overlooking the lake. The room was spacious yet cozy and loved having tea served to me in my room. The breakfast in the mornings had the best croissants! Great space to walk down to the beach if you like to wander. The garden was lovely with all the blooming flowers. But the thoughtfulness was so kind. I decided to skip breakfast my last morning and ddiscovered they had made me a take away bag with fresh fruit and one of those amazing croissants for my drive that morning. I highly recommend staying and definitely plan to return!

The house was absolutely perfect. We loved the big yard and privacy. It was very easy to find and park due to the explicit directions given by the host. There was an extensive guide available with lots of information about the house and surrounding areas, including restaurants. The house was impeccably clean with lots of morning coffee/and tea supplies. I would definitely recommend for anyone traveling to TeAnau. It is only 10 minutes for TeAnau and much more affordable and private then places I looked at in TeAnau. Thank you for sharing your cosy house!

This property was perfect for our two night stay in Manapouri. It was really clean, and had everything we needed. Despite being pretty chilly outside, the house was warm and cosy. Check in and check out were quick and easy.

Our stay at Cabot Lodge was one of the highlights of our trip to NZ. It is a magical, idyllic location and our hosts Brad and Breidi and their team welcomed us with kindness and thoughtfulness in their attention to detail. We would definitely go back and stay longer next time we are in NZ! We HIGHLY recommend this most amazing experience at Cabot Lodge!

Manapouri is a lovely little spot with a beautiful lake that’s incredibly peaceful and scenic. There’s a great second-hand variety store worth browsing, along with a small café and eatery for a relaxed bite. Surrounded by stunning farmland and natural landscapes, it’s the perfect place to slow down and enjoy the quiet charm of the area.

It was the worst motel I have ever booked into, it was dirty, the pillows didn't have pillow slips, the TV didn't work, there were cockroaches so we didn't even stay there so we left straight away and put in a complaint with Booking.com as we lost nearly $600 but nothing was done about it. Very disappointing experience !!!

Beautiful lake and excellent Doubtful Sound Cruise.

Beautiful lake and excellent Doubtful Sound Cruise. Very limited eating - Cafe - breakfast excellent with bakery and some provisions not open in evening. Church bar and restaurant closes early evening and has limited availability. 30 minutes drive to other restaurants, bars and shops in Te Annau.

Manapouri is one of the gateways to Fiordland National Park.

Manapouri is one of the gateways to Fiordland National Park. We based ourselves here and did a Doubtful Sound tour which gave us a delightful day starting with a boat trip across Lake Manapouri over to Wilmot Pass. From here a coach took us across the Pass to begin our Doubtful Sound boat tour. Fantastic scenery! Helped by a downpour over night which meant that the Sound was full of waterfalls. Manapouri is a cute town. Not too many dinning options but what there was available was adequate if not outstanding. The town is on the Southern Scenic Route that takes you on a drive from Dunedin down to Invercargill around to Tuatapere (great coffee shop here and a resident artist, Wayne Edgerton, who paints outstanding south Island scenes), up to Manapouri and then up through Kingston to Queenstown (Devils Staircase). The scenery is stunning especially if you're lucky enough to strike good weather which we did.

Lovely and quite place if you have the right accomodation.

Lovely and quite place if you have the right accomodation. Need to travel into Te Anu to eat. We stayed the night before Doubtful Sound cruise and found alternative accomodation for the following night as the Motel was beyond terrible.

Beautiful spot, excellent walks & good meals at The Church. Come prepared for cold weather and rain and bring your own supplies from Te Anau. The Doubtful Sound cruise is, of course, not to be missed.

This is a fine place to stay for a night or two if you’re visiting Doubtful Sound. This was my 3rd stay. Friendly, helpful staff from all over the world. Facilities range from tent camping to hook ups and basic cabins with shared ensuite and kitchen or fully equipped cabins with ensuite & kitchenette. Reasonably priced, beautiful location on Lake Manapouri and within walking distance to the Doubtful Sound cruise.
