Mooring Lane Seaside Accommodation is right on the waterfront opposite Whitianga town. The lodge has can two accommodation options-: Harbourside Apartments are self contained. Both with Super-king beds, and the option to add a small bedroom with two singles. The bathrooms have a shower and a toilet. The outdoor living has a dining table and a BBQ. The open plan living is very comfortable, with a lounge area, and another dining table. The kitchenette has a fridge, microwave, hotplate. Complimentary tea and coffee is provided as well as a start up breakfast hamper. Mooring Lane is waterfront, being nestled between the Whitianga harbour entry and the native rainforest backdrop. It is located at Ferry Landing, opposite Whitianga town, only 5 minutes on the ferry. (running continuously, between 7.30am and 10.30pm) Walking options are the best of both worlds, with stunning beaches and native bush walks, anything from 5 minutes along the shelly beach lane to the ferry up to several hours-or fill in the day. Tam and Charles have ten years experience in Tourism having recently sold Wairua Lodge, a mountain lodge in the Coromandel Ranges. We love this area, and decided to move from the mountains to the seaside, and offer waters-edge accommodation on the Whitianga estuary. Our boat is kept in the bay next to Mooring Lane Lodge.

Arrive, park your car for your entire stay, if you want (you wont need it) Tour trips will pick you up by boat from the Ferry Landing wharf, and you can even shuttle to Hot Water Beach, and Cathedral Cove (no parking issues) Throw and towel over your shoulder and wander to one of the many beach within 5-15 minutes walk. Choose from the little beach at the bottom of the garden, and see local fishing and pleasure boats passing by. Watch and the tide ebb and flow in the Whitianga estuary. Five minutes further to the stunning smooth white sand beaches of Front Beach and Flaxmill Bay. Then venture up Shakespeare's Cliff, and over to the exclusive Lonely Bay beach, which is only assessable for foot or boat.....then onto Cooks Beach. Stop and refuel at the local cafes-Eggcentric, Cook Landing, and Mercury Bay Winery.
