Redshed Studio is a relaxed, stylish open plan studio, with a coastal Scandi feel, designed for guests who appreciate simplicity, comfort and thoughtful detail. Suitable for a maximum of two guests with one queen bed, kitchenette for light meal preparation, Wi-Fi, Smart TV and an outdoor area (with BBQ) for slow mornings or unwinding after a day out. Finished with repurposed materials, the Studio reflects a sustainable approach while keeping the atmosphere warm and welcoming. The bathroom features a modern incinerating toilet. It is clean, odour-free and easy to use, with clear instructions provided, though it operates differently from a traditional flush toilet. Dogs are welcome. The property is unfenced and borders paddocks with sheep, goats and ducks. There are also a couple of resident cats who mostly keep to themselves but may occasionally wander past. Suitability therefore depends on your dog’s temperament, and we trust owners to know what’s best for their pooch to ensure a relaxed stay for everyone. A designated toileting area, along with bowls and towels, is provided. As a semi-rural property, guests can expect peaceful surroundings, birdsong and the natural rhythms of countryside life. Redshed Studio offers a simple, comfortable and affordable base for a relaxed Mangawhai break. Significantly reduced winter rates are available for longer stays (28+ nights) from 1 May to early September. Ideal for guests working locally on mid-term contracts or between homes, using the studio as a comfortable base. Includes furnishings, weekly linen refresh and a fortnightly clean. Reduced rates apply automatically when 28+ nights are selected. Pets for longer stays are by prior discussion to ensure suitability for the property.

We are Mangawhai locals who enjoy simple living, good food, coastal walks and swimming at our beautiful local beaches. We’ve both travelled widely and know how much difference a well-thought-out, easy place to stay can make. Redshed Studio reflects kind of accommodation we look for ourselves: calm, uncluttered and comfortable. While the Studio is not a hosted property, we’re close by and available if you need assistance during your stay, otherwise you’ll have complete privacy to enjoy the space at your own pace.
