This gorgeous property is 30 mins from Christchurch & 5 mins from Rangiora, along a private country lane. Three acres of landscaped gardens with mature trees straddle a stream that bisects the property & feeds a small lake complete with ducks, quail & a resident pair of paradise shelduck. Our friendly fantails will follow you around the gardens as the bellbirds sing their enchanting lullaby! This recently renovated home is comfortably appointed with four bedrooms, two lounges & 2.5 bathrooms. You will have 2 bedrooms (a king & a queen) & 1.5 bathrooms with heated floors at your disposal, & our formal lounge with gas fire is also exclusively yours to enjoy at your leisure. The patio setting is ideal for light meals or just enjoying a glass of wine on a balmy summer evening while you wait for the resident eels to start their day! We have recently adopted a rescue greyhound, Fred. Fred is blind so has never been raced & is now four years old. He is very gentle & loves meeting new people! Fred of course finds his way around by feel & using his nose so if he comes to you for a sniff, it's just his way of finding out who & what you are so that he knows what is in his environment.

This is our home & we live & work here every day. We can stay out of your way as much as possible if you wish but are equally happy expanding our circle of friends to include you through the sharing of food, wine, stories & experiences. We are both well-travelled, very friendly & always keen to meet other interesting, informative travellers! A continental breakfast will be prepared for you & you are most welcome to join us for home cooked meals in the evening (Forty Dollars pp, BYO wine) – please put in a request for this service in good time, as we are not always able to facilitate this. PLEASE NOTE: We do not allow smokers on the property whatsoever. Even if you smoke off site, the smell of cigarette smoke will follow you into our home and it is intolerable to us both. It is also extremely unfair on the next guests using the room you occupied when they, like us, have to suffer the lingering odour of cigarette smoke that has permeated the bedding, curtains or carpets, not to mention the potentially huge expense of having to deodorise the entire room. If you or one of your fellow travellers are a smoker, please do not book with us.

Apart from strolling the grounds or meditating in the beautiful surroundings, use your lounge as a quiet space for reading, art, yoga or music. Lily is also a life coach & is always willing to help you reach your inner peace & fulfil your potential! Rangiora is a vibrant, modern town with all facilities & boasts quite a few trendy coffee shops, restaurants & quirky retail outlets. It is also the home of multi-award winning Rangiora Bakery & Artisan Café, one of the best known bakeries in New Zealand! There are three 18 hole golf courses close by, tranquil beaches, walking tracks, biking, hiking, skiing & jet boating. Remember too that you will be at the heart of Canterbury’s world class wine producing & fly fishing mecca! Kaikoura, Hanmer Springs, Mt Hutt & Akaroa are all within a couple of hours drive & of course Christchurch is known as the ‘Garden City’ for very good reason!
