The Godley Hotel offers country-style accommodations in the alpine village of Lake Tekapo on the South Island. The hotel is centrally located in the village with views of the lake and mountains. It is an 5-minute walk to the lake with its famous turquoise waters and the Church of the Good Shepherd. There are 58 rooms, all of which have a smart TV, small fridge, tea/coffee making facilities and heating. Guests can enjoy the onsite Jack Rabbit Café with views of Lake Tekapo. Guests can relax in the stylish and modern lounge with free, unlimited WIFI. Lake Tekapo is famous for stargazing as the village is located in the heart of the Aoraki Mackenzie International Dark Sky Reserve. The night skies are exceptionally clear and pure, perfect for a stargazing tour or astrophotography. Other outdoor activities include walking, cycling, horse riding, scenic flights, and 4WD tours. Tekapo Springs is a 5-minute drive from the Godley Hotel, offering hot pools, day spa, steam and sauna, ice skating and snowtubing in winter, and waterslide in summer. The Godley Hotel is an ideal base for skiing and snowboarding as Roundhill Ski Area is just a 40-minute drive. The Godley Hotel is a 3-hour drive from Christchurch or Queenstown, and a scenic 1-hour drive to Aoraki/Mt Cook.
