This exceeded our expectations in most regards. The location was isolated, but still within easy drive of facilities. The little cottage had everything we needed with lovely touches by the hosts such as a lovely gift basket on arrival, a large selection of coffee and teas, lovely array of food for the continental breakfast, indoor and outdoor footwear, bath salts, linen and towels. Best part - the outdoor bath with a view of the dark sky reserve. What a spectacular, quiet, warm, beautiful place!

The location within the Pukaki Airfield is awesome. Gorgeous views of Mt Cook and surrounding mountains. Very quiet. Scenic flight oprion right at the doorstep. Very friendly staff. Communal kitchen and guest lounge and outside seating area, all excellent and a great opportunity to meet fellow travellers. Spacious rooms with beautifully appointed decor and large bathroom/ shower. Highly recommend this accommodation

We were in Twizel for 4 nights in the middle of a cold...

We were in Twizel for 4 nights in the middle of a cold winter. We were on our way from Queenstown to Akaroa. We spent one day going to Aoraki and walking near the mountains. This was about a 50min drive away. We had an amazing day there. The other days we wandered around Twizel doing some walks and learning about the history of the town. There are great independent shops and restaurants in Twizel and everyone we spoke to was were so friendly and helpful, we felt really at home. We loved the fact that it was so easy to walk everywhere.

This is the must-do route from Lake Tekapo to Queenstown - take a full day to really enjoy it.This town is really quiet - you won't see anyone coming or going after 6 PM. Perfect place to get some good rest and then head out to Wanaka the next day

Loved the access to Aoraki Mt Cook - the purpose of the visit. The weather was initially overcast and cold but the cloud cover lifed to reveal the mountain ranges. It was close to Lake Tekapo our next stop

We liked that Twizel was less filled with tourists and...

We liked that Twizel was less filled with tourists and seemed to be more of a local's place to stay. We would have liked to explore more of the surrounding area. It was easy to get to Mt. Cook from Twizel, and the lodging there was better value for our stay.

Great spot for those into water sports in the summer, with Lake Ruataniwha a short drive away. (Rowing capital lake of the South Island) Not to forget skiing in the winter with Ohau ski field close by. This is the town that should never have existed. The house was perfect for our Muellers hut hike. Not all the family did the hike so the ones who opted out had a perfect spot to re charge during our NZ family drive holiday. The house has everything you need and more. The bath was blissful for me after the hike! Kitchen fully stocked. The layout and plan of the house was perfect. Beautiful aspect and orientation showcasing the stunning view and nighttime skies! Best showers ever! Loved the place SUPBERB

A quirky little holiday park with well maintained grounds with room for vans / motorhomes and cabins as well. Our room had plenty of space to fit 4 of us in as well as small eating area and usual bar fridge / kettle etc. The bathroom had been updated and was clean with plenty of hot water and we could park right out the front of our cabin which made moving luggage in and out quite easy. A short stay we didn't speak with any of the staff but they had made arrangements for a late check-in and everything ran smoothly

We loved the location and the motel on the holiday park worked well for us. We found lots of local walks, the town of Twizel had everything we wanted. I enjoyed a swim in the lake. We took a trip and walked the Hooker Trail. Reception staff were friendly and efficient.We loved the night skies.

Stopped here for a night on the way back to Christchurch from Queenstown. Hotel room was clean, equipped with all basic amenities. Only downside was it was slightly expensive for a night’s stay.
