The Rise is unique as you will relax and feel you are the only ones on this planet. Quiet and peaceful without traffic noise or busy city life to disturb you. We will ensure you have everything you need to make your stay exceptional. Read a book under a tree, laze by the pool with something cool, watch a movie, gaze over the countryside as the farm carries on its daily tasks. Flick through the brochures and maps to decide what your next days plan will be.
We have been in the hospitality industry for many years managing 2 resorts since 2002. After bringing up 5 children we left our jobs in education and embarked on a new occupation. Certainly a different track but a great change and enjoyed constantly meeting new friends. One resort having 78 units beside the lake in Rotorua and the other a beautiful rural resort in Matakana with 17 self contained villas on 40 acres. As we loved the people contact in the industry we decided to build a self-contained wing in our home at the beautiful Waimate North in the Bay of Islands.
Centrally located between Kerikeri and Pahia in the Bay of Islands, Waimate North was one of the earliest centres of European settlement and features the second-oldest surviving European building in New Zealand, at Te Waimate mission. The first European wedding in New Zealand was conducted on 11 October 1831 at the St John the Baptist church.
