Hi! This is a new property and it’s in a very special place in Taiura as its situated on edge of the Pepe Estuary - absolute waterfront from the garden. Guests can kayak from the door 2 hours either side of high tide or walk across the sand to town at low tide. The view across the water is outstanding and it’s only a short stroll to town, on the flat. There’s a lovely covered pergola to enjoy watching the water, the kingfishers, shags and herons or wander across the water to the deeper parts to swim. I am currently hosting the main house as a self catering holiday home but later in 2026 will open the luxury 5 star cabin on the waters edge with bed and breakfast.

I’ve been hosting for many years and ran an AA five star BNB and holiday let in the Uk. I’m Scottish and have loved living in NZ for some years now, I’m always on hand to offer guests advice on the amazing local attractions and walks. I can even help you learn to kayak if you’ve never tried it before. You’ll find lots of little luxuries at the house - I’m happy if you’re happy.

Tairua is a wonderful town in a central location on the peninsula. We have safe estuary swimming and a great surf beach. There’s small town has many attractions such as a fishing club, marina, golf club, skate park, free tennis courts, restaurants and cafes. We are within easy distances of Hot Water Beach, Cathedral Cove and the breathtaking east coast beaches.
