I bought this cute little house in 2021—it was my very first home on my own, and a time I’ll always treasure. At the time, and like so many others, I was searching for a place to call my own. The housing market was wild—everything was getting snapped up and there just didn’t seem to be anything available. One day, while I was out riding my bike, I passed this house on Michael Street. It caught my eye immediately, but I didn’t think I had a chance. Still, something made me inquire. I put in an offer... and when it was accepted, I honestly could’ve cried—I was so thrilled and grateful. From the moment I walked through the door, I knew it was something special. The house is full of character and quirks—it’s not perfectly straight (in fact, it’s a little wonky!), but that’s exactly what I love about it. It has warmth, personality, and history. It’s believed to have been built around 1910, though the kitchen is even older—originally part of an early settler’s cottage dating back to the late 1800s.  In 2023, I married my wonderful husband, Rob Harvey. Moving out of this home was bittersweet, but it opened the door to something new—creating a home together, and also opening this one up for others to enjoy. Inspired by my entrepreneur sisters in America and supported by Rob every step of the way, I’ve embraced the joy of hosting. I’m so excited to share this cozy little sanctuary with you. Whether you’re here for an adventure or a peaceful reset, I hope it feels like a true home away from home. Come stay, slow down, and make some lovely memories in a place that means the world to me.

Neighborhood info

"Michael Street in Masterton, New Zealand is named after Michael Dixon, an early European settler in the area.  Many of Masterton's streets are named after the first European families in the area. This includes their personal names, their surnames, and the names of their farms.  As Masterton developed, Dixon's circumstances improved, enabling him to acquire land and construct additional houses. His farm was bordered by the Kuripuni Stream and Chapel Street. The road that traversed his land was originally known as "Michael Dixon Street" but was later renamed "Michael Street" in his honor."
