Founded in 2016 by Sam and Alma, this beachfront home began as a simple dream: to live by the sea, welcome guests like family, and share a slower, more meaningful way of life in Cebu. For years, it welcomed travelers from around the world through Airbnb — a place of sunsets, barefoot mornings, and quiet nights by the shore. Then Typhoon Odette changed everything. Our home was damaged. What once stood strong by the beach was left broken. It would have been easier to walk away, to move elsewhere and start over. But this place is more than land and walls. This is where our story lives. So we stayed. One step at a time, we rebuilt — not just the house, but the dream behind it. Years of patience, rebuilding, and believing brought us here again. Today, Bonbon Beach House stands renewed — stronger, calmer, and deeply rooted in resilience. Now, we return not just as hosts, but as a family — Sam, Alma, and our dog Sandy — standing proudly in the place that tested us and shaped us.

Alma is a certified yoga instructor teaching Ashtanga Vinyasa, Hatha, Vinyasa, and Yin Yoga. Since 2021, she has been building a growing wellness community that started with five students and has now expanded to over 20 regular practitioners. She is the founder of Bambusa Coffee House, a space offering coffee, healthy meals, and daily yoga, rooted in connection and community. A graduate of Culinary Cookery and a former licensed tour guide in Region VII, Alma previously owned and managed Explorer Travel and Tours. Inspired by her love for the ocean and the sun, she brings warmth, balance, and intention into everything she hosts and creates.
