I’m Kin Jie arcillas passionate about island life, the ocean, and creating calm, welcoming spaces where people can truly relax. I spend most of my time surfing — it’s what connects me to the rhythm of Siargao. When I’m not in the water, I enjoy drawing and creating, which inspires the simple, peaceful atmosphere you’ll feel at Ginhawa. I chose to stay in the north of Siargao because of its quiet energy, natural beauty, and slower pace of life. Burgos has a strong sense of community and the genuine warmth and hospitality of the Filipino people, which made me feel at home from the beginning. It’s a beautiful place that never stops surprising me — there are always new spots to explore and meaningful connections to make. That’s why I created Ginhawa: a space where guests can experience the same calm, balance, and island feeling that made me stay. For me, hospitality is about more than just providing a place to stay — it’s about creating an atmosphere where people feel comfortable, cared for, and free to enjoy life at their own pace. I love hosting relaxed, easygoing travelers who come without stress, simply to slow down and enjoy the peaceful rhythm of Burgos.

Our place is located in a quiet residential neighborhood, set back from the main road, so the area is generally very peaceful both during the day and at night. It’s a calm local community where you can experience authentic island life in a relaxed setting. Occasionally you may hear animals around the neighborhood, but not regularly — most of the time the atmosphere is tranquil and easygoing. We are within walking distance of some of the best surf spots in the north, and only about 15 minutes by motorbike from Pacifico and Tangbo, making it a great base if you love surfing and exploring. There is a Gospel church next to us , so on Sundays around 9 AM they sing and hold their service for about an hour, its about the community and filipino traditions. For extra comfort, we provide complimentary earplugs for guests who are not early birds. You may also see local kids playing “sa taas” (up the hill), sometimes riding skateboards or just hanging out — it’s part of the friendly neighborhood charm and brings a lively, happy island vibe to the area. Overall, this is a peaceful, safe, and welcoming place to stay — perfect if you enjoy quiet surroundings, surf lifestyle, and the natural rhythm of local island living.
