Located near the Cais de Gaia (Gaia’s wharf), a stone throw away from the World of Wine Museum, and right in a cluster of port wine cellars, this two bedroom apartment with enough berths for six offers an immersive experience in the culture of Portuguese wine and age-old traditions of the region. In this ideal spot right by the River Douro, guests can walk down to the Cais de Gaia and then on to the Ribeira and the old town, where they can visit the city´s most iconic monuments. This apartment was renovated in August of 2020 and includes two bedrooms complete with a balcony and plenty of natural light, a living room with a kitchenette, and a beautiful garden, perfect for enjoying breakfast outside, reading a book, or even having a barbecue (barbecue, garden chairs and table provided).

I love to serve my guests at the highest level of consideration possible and each apartment is looked after as if it were my own home. I carefully select all sheets, towels, and mattresses in order to ensure that all guests enjoy the best comfort, rest and relaxation possible. Cleanliness is my top priority and, to ensure this, I use a specialised cleaning company that makes sure that the house and all equipment are completely cleaned. The protocol we adhere to with regards to cleaning and sanitation has been certified with the “Clean & Safe” seal by the Portuguese tourism board (Turismo de Portugal). This apartment is located along a quiet street in Vila Nova de Gaia and is the perfect place for you to rest and relax at any time of day. From this location next to the Cais de Gaia, guests are able to reach around 12 port wine cellars on foot, taste dozens of varieties of this Portuguese wine, and visit the World of Wine Museum. From here, you can take a cruise along the Douro River and stroll around the old town of Porto where the main monuments of the city can be found, such as the Torre dos Clérigos, the famous Livraria Lello bookshop, Porto Cathedral, the Palácio da Bolsa (the old Stock Exchange Palace), and many, many more. After exploring the city centre, take the opportunity to take a refreshing bike ride along the river between the Cais de Gaia and the Marina da Afurada (Afurada marina), where you can taste the best in freshly caught grilled fish. To help with your digestion, continue on to Canidelo beach and then take the opportunity to go for a dip or take a surf lesson.
