Casa dos Meus Avós has belonged to our family for more than 200 years and originally belonged to my great-great-grandfather. Over the generations, the house has kept its original character, and we strive to preserve its authenticity as much as possible. Throughout the property, including inside the house, you will find furniture, objects, and memories that have been part of the history and lives of the people who lived here over time. It is a warm and welcoming place, ideal for those looking for peace and comfort close to Porto and the beaches of the Gaia and Espinho area. The property offers private parking inside, shared outdoor areas, and a calm and pleasant atmosphere to relax with family, as a couple, or with friends. Pets are welcome, although we kindly ask that they are always kept on a leash in the shared outdoor areas. Guests will have private access to the house and may enjoy the outdoor spaces available on the property. You may enter through either of the two gates of the property, both identified with signs saying “Casa dos Meus Avós”. Only one of the gates has the street name displayed. Parking is free and located inside the property. We enjoy welcoming our guests in a warm and personal way. Check-in is done in person, and guests will receive the house key and the gate remote control upon arrival. The property also has a small event hall where private parties may occasionally take place. These events are organized in a way that respects the guests’ peace and comfort, although on some days there may be more movement in the parking area and shared outdoor spaces. If you bring pets, we kindly ask that they are always kept on a leash in the shared outdoor areas. Check-out must be completed by 11:00 a.m. to allow time for cleaning and disinfecting the accommodation for the next guests.

Vila Nova de Gaia is known for its extensive Atlantic coastline, with around 17 km of golden sandy beaches and some of the most beautiful beaches in northern Portugal. The municipality also stands out for its large number of Blue Flag beaches, a symbol of the region’s environmental quality and excellent bathing conditions. Along the coast, there is a wooden boardwalk connecting Lavadores to Espinho, ideal for walks by the sea with stunning views over the Atlantic Ocean. Among the most well-known beaches are Madalena, Valadares, Miramar, Aguda, and Granja. Nearby, you can visit iconic places such as the Senhor da Pedra Chapel, built on the rocks by the sea, the traditional fishing village of Aguda, and the elegant seaside town of Granja, known for its connection to the writer Sophia de Mello Breyner Andresen, who spent part of her childhood there and found inspiration for many of her works. The region also offers several leisure and nature attractions, such as the Gaia Biological Park, the Environmental Education Centre of the Gaia Rivers, the Aguda Coastal Station, and Santo Inácio Zoo, all ideal for family visits.
