Tradicampo Eco Country Houses is established in 2009 and provides high quality temporary accommodation, tourist entertainment and rural tourism services, in an environmentally sustainable basis. Tradicampo Eco Country Houses is made up of four ancient rural properties (with a total of 8 lodging units), in different locations: Casa da Fonte and Casa da Talha which are independent houses; Casa do Tanque and A Arribana, which form a group known as Casas do Pátio, sharing the entire outdoor space and Casa do Arco, Casa da Cisterna, Granel and Estúdio da Varanda which belong to Quinta das Cycas and equally share the entire outer space. They are all situated in the beautiful, untouched, Nordeste district, surrounded by a backdrop of deep blue of the Atlantic Ocean. Original ancestral homes have been lovingly restored to create four rustic, stone houses. The finish is luxurious and in keeping with the age of the houses they have been largely decorated with traditional furniture which sit alongside modern comforts. The gardens are a major feature at the properties, they are beautiful and provide the perfect backdrop to the breath-taking sea and mountain views from which each of the houses is fortunate enough to benefit. Sustainability is important here and Tradicampo Eco Country Houses pride themselves on their eco credentials.

Tradicampo Country Houses are located in the Nordeste district which is the best kept secret on São Miguel Island. Its untouched nature, with a large area of laurel forest (which is also home to a unique species called Azores bullfinch), and its breathtaking landscapes, with the deep blue sea as the backdrop, are a true shelter for those in search of the lost paradise. Our accommodation units are located in small rural parishes where the offer of services (bars, restaurants and supermarkets) is limited. Within a 10km radius there are restaurants, mini markets, a butcher and a fish shop. The Nordeste municipality is connected by a new road, with an expressway profile, allowing a quick and safe access to all the other parts of the island. The main towns are within a short drive from the Houses: Furnas Valley and Ribeira Grande (about 30 minutes); Vila Franca do Campo, Lagoa do Fogo Lake and Ponta Delgada/airport (about 40 minutes) and Sete Cidades lakes (about one hour).
