Vila Joaninha is located in the heart of Santo da Serra and close by the famous Santo da Serra golf course ( 27 holes). in this traditional villa, all the corners and decorative pieces testify a family harmony, which makes our guests feel really at home. The house is surrounded by well kept gardens with diversified trees and lawns. This villa, genuinely familiar, was used as a holiday residence by the ancestors of the present owner, João Teives. It was restored in 1997 and opened as a rural tourism unit in October 1999, being classified as casa de campo – Country house. On arrival, guest are warmly welcome with a delicious home made cake and the famous madeira wine. It is also provided information on Santo da Serra facilities, as well as some Madeira island highlights
Santo da Serra village, has long been one of madeira most sought after holiday destination. Due to its location, it is the ideal place for nature lovers, walkers, horse riders and golfers. Here you can find minimarkets, restaurants, local bars, snack-bars, a chemist, health centre, petrol station, church, etc. while here do not miss the opportunity to taste the typical cider - a drink made with apple juice. Worth to visit is Quinta da Junta, with an extensive par with beautiful gardens, mini-zoo, playground and tennis court. Besides there is a belvedere with excellent views over the east coast. Not to be missed is the open air market, full of regional offer, held every sunday and holiday.
