Villa Waterside sits right in the heart of Praia da Luz — a relaxed, picturesque village on the western Algarve coast, just 6 kilometres from historic Lagos. This is one of the most walkable positions in the village: the Blue Flag beach, seafront promenade, restaurants, bars, and supermarket are all just steps from your door. Guests consistently love it — the freedom to walk everywhere, watch the sun set over the Atlantic from the balcony, and come home on foot after dinner. The beach itself is a sheltered crescent of golden sand, calm and shallow — perfect for families and all ages. At its eastern end rises the Rocha Negra, a dramatic volcanic basalt headland formed 150 million years ago, where clifftop trails reward you with sweeping views across the bay. From here a spectacular 11km coastal path leads all the way to Lagos. Within 30 minutes you have some of the Algarve's finest beaches: dramatic Porto de Mós, the photogenic coves of Praia do Camilo and Praia Dona Ana, the long Atlantic sweep of Meia Praia, and the charming village beach at Burgau. The crown jewel is Ponta da Piedade — extraordinary golden limestone sea arches and grottos, best explored by kayak at sunset. Activities are exceptional: sea kayaking through the Ponta da Piedade grottos, dolphin watching from Lagos marina, surfing lessons, stand-up paddleboarding, snorkelling, sailing charters, clifftop hiking, e-bike rides, yoga, and Lagos food and wine tours. Lagos repays a full day: the walled old town, the Museu Municipal, the gold-leaf Igreja de Santo António, and the Mercado de Escravos museum.
