Gorsko zavetje – Where Time Flows at Its Own Pace Hidden above Trenta, in the heart of Triglav National Park, Gorsko zavetje offers the perfect escape into nature. Once a traditional shepherd's hut, it now comfortably accommodates up to 4 guests, combining modern comfort with an unspoiled alpine setting. The cabin features two bedrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, a bathroom, fresh spring drinking water, electricity supplied by solar panels, a wood-burning stove, a wood-fired hot tub, a barbecue, and breathtaking views of the Julian Alps and the Trenta Valley. Gorsko zavetje is reached via approximately 2 km of unpaved forest road. Upon your arrival in Trenta, we will personally welcome you and transport both you and your luggage to the cabin in our off-road vehicle. During your stay, you may drive your own car almost all the way to the cabin, with only the last five minutes of the journey continuing on foot. Electricity is provided exclusively by solar panels, so we kindly ask you to use electrical appliances responsibly. The traditional wood-fired hot tub is heated with firewood, which is provided at the cabin. Gorsko zavetje is an excellent starting point for hikes to Prehodavci, the Triglav Lakes Valley, and many other peaks of the Julian Alps. Gorsko zavetje is more than just a mountain cabin—it is a place where silence finds its voice, nature embraces the soul, and time flows at its own pace. Gorsko zavetje was created out of a deep love for Trenta and the mountains. We lovingly restored this former shepherd's hut with the wish of sharing its story with guests who appreciate peace, nature, and an authentic alpine experience. Trenta is the heart of Triglav National Park, surrounded by the majestic peaks of the Julian Alps and the emerald-green Soča River. Nearby, you can visit the Source of the Soča River, the Juliana Alpine Botanical Garden, the Trenta Information Centre (Dom Trenta), and enjoy numerous hiking trails leading through one of Slovenia's most beautiful alpine landscapes.
