Meru Nest Arusha is a small boutique stay set in the green hills of Sekei on the slopes of Mount Meru, overlooking the city of Arusha. The house offers a calm hillside setting while Arusha city centre and the Clock Tower are only a short drive away. With only a few guest rooms, Meru Nest offers a quiet and personal atmosphere where guests can slow down and experience everyday Tanzanian life. Meru Nest combines authentic local character with thoughtful comfort. It is a place where guests can relax and feel at home, surrounded by nature while still being close to the city. The atmosphere is warm, welcoming and personal — ideal for travelers looking for a genuine experience rather than a large hotel or lodge. At Meru Nest we offer "The Meru Nest Experience", which includes full board and one curated activity for each night of your stay. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are freshly prepared at the house with a focus on local Tanzanian dishes and seasonal ingredients, served in our open-air restaurant. These include birdwatching walks in the green hills, a walk to nearby Themi/Napuru Waterfall, or a village walk and cooking class, starting with a walk through the neighbourhood to buy ingredients together with the guide from local vendors before returning to the house to prepare traditional dishes. In the evenings, guests often gather around the outdoor fireplace while watching hornbills and ibis fly across the valley. For guests wishing to explore further, larger excursions such as visits to Arusha National Park, Mount Meru climbs, day hikes on Mount Kilimanjaro, and several other guided outdoor experiences can be organised with our trusted local partners.
